-SINGLE PISTON GM MOUNT D52 STYLE DUCTILE CALIPER WITH MECHANICAL ADJUSTABLE RETRACTION. ALLOWING FOR PAD PULLBACK OFF OF THE ROTOR FOR BETTER BRAKE COOLING. PLEASE READ THROUGH THE DESCRIPTION FOR AN EXPLAINATION OF THE MANY FEATURES OF THESE CALIPERS.

¨ SINGLE PISTON CALIPERS ARE BASED ON THE D52 G M CALIPER AND HAVE EVOLVED OVER MANY YEARS . THE DESIGN HAS EVOLVED AS PROBLEMS AROSE DUE TO THE DRIVERS CONTINUALLY STRESSING THEM HARDER ON THE TRACK AND CONTINUAL DYNO TESTING

¨ DYNO TESTS HAVE SHOWN THE BETTER PERFORMANCE AGAINST THE EXISTING 4 PISTON CALIPERS.

¨ ONE PISTON RETRACTION IS EASIER TO MANAGE AND PRODUCE THAN FOUR PISTON RETACTION.

¨ FOUR PISTON CALIPRS HAVE TWO PISTONS BETWEEN THE ROTOR AND THE WHEEL WHERE IT IS DIFFICULT TO COOL AND SPACE CONCERNS LIMIT THE CALIPER STIFFNESS.

¨ ONE PISTON CALIPERS HAVE NO PISTONS IN THAT SPACE AND DO NOT REQUIRE AS MUCH ROOM AND CAN BE MADE STRONGER.

¨ IRON CALIPERS ARE STIFFER AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES THAN ALUMINUM.

¨ THE DRISC CALIPER USES STOCK TYPE PADS WITH A REMOVABLE BACKING PLATE THAT ELIMINATES PAD DISTORSION

¨ DRISC CALIPER RETRACTION IS MECHANICAL AND DOES NOT RELY ON SEAL PULLBACK, WHICH IS LIMITED AND IS PRONE TO S EAL FAILURE DUE TO OVERHEATING AND ONE PISTON RETRACTION IS EASIER TO MANAGE AND PRODUCE THAN FOUR PISTONS

¨ DRISC CALIPER RETACTION IS EXTERNALLY ADJUSTABLE FROM 0.050 INCH TO 0.015.

¨ ANY AMOUNT OF DRAG AT HIGH SPEEDS ROBS HORSEPOWER AND SLOWS THE CAR.

¨ DRISC RETRACTION ALLOWS (DEPENDING ON ADJUSTMENT) AIR TO GO BETWEEN THE ROTOR AND THE PAD FACE THUS PROMOTING COOLING OF BOTH THE ROTOR AND PAD.

¨ EXTERNAL ADJUSTMENT ALLOWS THE BRAKE PEDAL MOVEMENT TO BE ADJUSTED TO BALANCE PEDAL TRAVEL VERSUS AMOUNT OF RETACTION.

¨ DRISC CALIPERS FEATURE A MODULAR DESIGN.

¨ THERE ARE CALIPER BODYS SPECIFICALLY FOR 1.5 IN WIDE ROTORS, 1.25 ROTORS AND 0.810 ROTORS.

¨ SLEEVE ASSEMBLIES ARE 2.25 INCH DIAMETER PISTONS (EQUIVALENT TO A 1.75 IN DIAMETER 4 PISTON CALIPER) AND A 1.813 INCH DIAMETER PISTON (EQUIVALENT TO A 1.312 INCH DIAMETER 4 PISTON CALIPER.

¨ ANY SLEEVE WILL FIT IN ANY CALIPER BODY AND CAN BE EASILY CHANGED IN CASE OF DAMAGE OR USE IN OTHER APPLICATIONS.

¨ OTHER SIZE PISTON SLEEVES CAN BE SUPPLIED ALLOWING FOR DIFFERENTIAL BRAKING SIDE TO SIDE.

¨ THE PISTON HAS A UNIQUE INNSULATING SLEEVE FOR SEVERE USE APLICATIONS THAT IS REMOVABLE.

¨ THE SLEEVE CAP CAN BE ROTATED TO ALIGN THE BLEEDER SCREW AND INLET LINE.

¨ ? SEALS ARE STANDARD DIMENSIONS AND CAN BE SOURCED LOCALLY( HOWEVER ALL SEALS ARE NOT CREATED EQUALLY AND FACTORY SEAL KITS ARE RECOMMENDED).

¨ TO TAKE MAXIMUM ADVANTAGE OF THE DRISC CALIPER THERE MUST BE A RIGID CALIPER BRACKET A RIGID SPINDLE ALONG WITH MAXIMUM AIR COOLING, AND RIGID BEARING SPACERS
